Message from the Board

Oakland Pride 2015 - 6 Years Strong

The Oakland Pride Board of Directors would like to welcome you to the 6th Annual Oakland Pride Festival!

We have so much to celebrate this year and so much to reflect upon. Now in our 6th year Oakland Pride is stronger than ever and we are continuing to expand our work with the community to ensure that we’re giving back to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer community. 2015 has been a year to remember, with the passage of marriage equality across the country our relationships and families are a huge step closer to having the same rights as non same-sex couples. This year we also witnessed an increase in the awareness of many of the issues affecting the transgender, gender non-conforming, and gender-queer communities. Oakland Pride is a day to celebrate our victories and look towards the future at the road to come.

We are ready to welcome our 2nd Annual Oakland Pride Parade down Broadway this year and are looking forward to welcoming the nearly 50,000 attendees that will come to the festival at 20th and Broadway to enjoy the artists and music on our 4 stages, visit hundreds of community, vendor, exhibitor and sponsor booths and celebrate the diversity, inclusivity, and greatness that is Oakland and our LGBTQ community.

The Oakland Pride Board would like to thank all of our sponsors and donors for investing into the vision and celebration of the LGBTQ community. We also want to thank all of our amazing volunteers for your continued hard work throughout the year. We can’t do it without you!
